One of our favourite releases this past  year has been Guest Checkout, a simpler way for visitors and one time guests to access EV charging.

Most drivers passing through aren't looking to create an account or download another app just to charge for an hour. They're visiting family, grabbing lunch, attending a meeting, completing a service call, or making a quick stop.

Requiring account setup can add unnecessary friction to the charging experience.

Guest Checkout gives site owners and property management an easier way to accommodate visitors while keeping charging simple, accessible, and pay-per-use.

Guest Checkout can be useful for properties that regularly serve a mix of permanent and temporary users, including:

• Multi-family residential visitors

• Restaurant and retail customers

• Workplace visitors

No Account, Membership, or App Required

Getting started takes just a few seconds.

Guests can scan the QR code displayed on the charger (or on the screen of Artemis Level 2 chargers), or head to my.plugz.io, enter the charger's Device ID, and you're ready to charge.

From there, they are able to review pricing upfront, pay by credit card, debit card, or PayPal, and start their charging session without creating a Plugzio account or downloading an app.

Guests can return to the same browser page to monitor their session and receive an email receipt with  session summary, energy usage, and total cost once charging is complete.

For site owners, this means one less barrier between your visitors and your EV charging amenity.

Returning? A Free Plugzio Account Has Its Perks!

Guest Checkout is perfect for the occasional visit.
